Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises – Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Thursday’s session.

Lexus Granito(up 4.95%), 20 Microns(up 0.76%) and Oriental Trimex(up 0.33%) stood among the top gainers.

Dvpt Corporation(down 2.75%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.85%), Pokarna(down 1.77%), KIOCL(down 1.39%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.25%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.04%), Coal India(down 1.00%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.78%), Ashapura Minechem(down 0.67%) and MOIL(down 0.33%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 174.35 points up at 17798.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 659.31 points at 59688.22.

Shree Cement(up 5.51%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 3.98%), Axis Bank(up 3.22%), Tech Mahindra(up 3.2%), ICICI Bank(up 2.58%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.5%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.22%), State Bank of India(up 2.21%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.2%) and Bajaj Finserv(up 1.92%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 2.84%), Tata Steel(down 1.63%), SBI Life(down 1.04%), Coal India(down 1.0%), Tata Motors(down 0.82%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.73%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.63%), UPL Ltd(down 0.49%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.49%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 0.42%) closed in the red.
